High Current Pulse Plater

We were requested to write pc software to control a commercial high current analogue potentiostat using a plug-in pc data collection card. The software allowed users to design complex pulse waveforms.

The customer was supplied with pc software that would enable an analogue potentiostat to be connected to a computer with a plug-in pc data collection card and controlled via a user set up interface.  The interface allowed the customer to define a pulse profile and this was graphically displayed on the pc screen.

The resulting software enabled the customer to utilise equipment via a pc that had previously only been manually controlled.

Multi-channel Electrodeposition Instrument

Our customer had already commissioned us to design and build a two-channel electrodeposition instrument. This was capable of depositing material using controlled potential or current.  The instrument allowed the user, working in an R & D laboratory, to write methods scripts employing a number of steps of either open circuit potential measurement, constant current coating or constant potential coating.  The project proved successful so we were asked to design a production instrument to allow eight electroplating cells to be controlled simultaneously.

An eight channel plater was supplied with each channel being totally electrically isolated and having a pH and temperature sensor. A PC software package specifically designed for semi-skilled operators allowed the deposition process to be carried out without errors. Information on various process parameters are required to be entered by the operator before the process will run. Data collected during the process is automatically plotted on SPC charts.
